WHY THERE ARE DIFFERENT RACES IF WE ALL CAME FROM ADAM AND EVE?

  

QUESTION:

An atheist named John asked me this question: If all men came from Adam and Eve, why there are many genes in the world? Isn’t that we supposed to have only one gene if we all came from Adam and Eve? If we all have the same ancestor, we all came from Adam and Eve, why there are different races – Europens (white) Africans (black) and Asians?

To fully understand why there are different races in the world today, we must first understand what are those called “genes”.

(1) WHAT ARE “GENES”?

“A gene is the basic physical and functional unit of heredity. Genes, which are made up of DNA, act as instructions to make molecules called proteins…”

In humans, genes vary in size from a few hundred DNA bases to more than 2 million bases. The Human Genome Project has estimated that humans have between 20,000 and 25,000 genes.” [Ibid.]

(3) DOES AN INDIVIDUAL HAS A DIFFERENT SETS OF GENES FROM OTHERS?

“…Most genes are the same in all people, but a small number of genes (less than 1 percent of the total) are slightly different between people. Alleles are forms of the same gene with small differences in their sequence of DNA bases. These small differences contribute to each person’s unique physical features.” [Ibid.]

(4) WHY “MOST GENES ARE THE SAME IN ALL PEOPLE”? WHY A DIFFERENCE OF ONLY “A SMALL NUMBER OF GENES OR LESS THAT ONE PERCENT OF THE TOTAL” BETWEEN PEOPLE?

“Every person has two copies of each gene, one inherited from each parent. Most genes are the same in all people, but a small number of genes (less than 1 percent of the total) are slightly different between people…” [Ibid.]

Most genes are the same in all peoiple and every people inherited their genes from their parents. These only proves that we all have the same ancestors, confirming what the Bible says that we all came from Adam and Eve.

This answers the question “If all men came from Adam and Eve, why there are many genes in the world? Isn’t that we supposed to have only one gene if we all came from Adam and Eve?” Science confirms that eah person has an estimated 20,000-25,000; that most genes are the same in all people (only a difference of less that one percent between people); and we all inherited our genes from our parents. Thus, confirming we all came from the same ancestors, that we all came from Adam and Eve.

(5) IF ALL MEN CAME FROM ADAM AND EVE, WHY THERE ARE DIFFERENT RACES IN THE WORLD?

  

There are Indo-Europeans, Africans and Asians because of “purebreeding” which means “all of whose ancestors derive over many generations from a recognized breed or limited gene pool.”

For example, if a person has a dark skin and married a person who also has a dark skin, surely we will have a family of having dark skin. And if their chidren will marry from their own family, surely we will have a tribe of  having dark skin. And if they continue marrying from their own tribe, surely we will have a race of having dark skin.

Remember hat the Bible tells us hat there was a Great Flood in the time of Noah. Only eight survived the Great Flood. Noah has three sons: Shem, Cham and Japhet. After the flood, the descendants of Shem, Cham and Japhet refused to follow God’s comamandment that they spread over the face of the earth. They built a city and a tower. Thus God confused their langage:

“Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. Then they said to one another, "Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly." They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. And they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth." But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the LORD said, "Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.” (Genesis 11:1-9 NKJV)

Because God confused their language, men scattered over the face of the earth. Every families went their own way, spread over the face of the earth, according to his language. From them came the different races of today:

“Now this is the genealogy of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And sons were born to them after the flood. The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. From these the coastland peoples of the Gentiles were separated into their lands, everyone according to his language, according to their families, into their nations. The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan. The sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabtechah; and the sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan. Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD." And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. From that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah, 12and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (that is the principal city). Joktan begot Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, Obal, Abimael, Sheba, Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan. Because of “purebreeding” a unique or distinct race will rise. Because God confused their language, the Bible says, “…(men) were separated into their lands, everyone according to his language, according to their families, into their nations.” Thus, science confirms the Bible’s explanation why there are different races today.
