31 August 2013 Remembering Brother Erano G. Manalo

REMEMBERING
BROTHER ERAÑO G. MANALO

TODAY, 31 August 2013, is the fourth year since Brother Eraño G. Manalo passed away. However, we will not going to forget him because we all know how he devout all his life and strength for the sake of Christ’s Church. Although he is gone, but he left us his greatest legacy and achievement, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, who love and take the flock as Brother Felix Y. Manalo and Brother Eraño G. Manalo did.

We thank God that He gave us leaders not only dynamic, but also more loving and caring. Thus, as we are all loyal to Brother Eraño G. Manalo, the same loyalty we will give to Brother Eduardo V. Manalo. This is what the Bible adhere Christians about their leaders:

Hebrews 13:7 and 17 NIV
“Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
“Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.”

Felix Manalo is God's Last Messenger On Isaiah 41:4 and 9-10

WHY WE FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT BROTHER FELIX Y. MANALO IS GOD’S LAST MESSENGER
(On Isaiah 41:4 and 9-10)

GOD’S LAST MESSENGER?” this is how people react whenever they hear we declare that Brother Felix Y. Manalo is God’s messenger in these last days. They often ask, is there such thing as God’s messenger in these last days? And they also ask, if there such a thing, why are you sure that your Brother Felix Y. Manalo is God’s last messenger? In answering these questions, let us consult God’s pronouncement written in the Holy Scripture or the Bible.

God Set Apart His Chosen People To Render Him True Worship And True Religion

BIBLICAL HISTORY OF RELIGION

PART III

THE SETTING ASIDE OF PEOPLE CHOSEN BY GOD TO RENDER HIM TRUE RELIGON AND THE DRAWING AWAY

CIPRIANO P. SANDOVAL

THIS is a continuation of our study of the History of Religion according to the Bible.  We have learned that men have deviated from the rules or commandments of God, and as a result, their right to serve and deify God was forfeited.  According to the Bible, they have all gone astray and there is none that does good.  This is a sad picture of mankind because all men have turned away from God, but, in spite of man’s undoing, God’s compassionate love remains for all men.  So He has an invitation for all men and for all sinners, all those who have been separated from Him.  And this invitation of God projects His unending love for mankind.

The Religion of Men Rejected By God

BIBLICAL HISTORY OF RELIGION
PART II
THE RELIGION OF MEN REJECTED BY GOD

BY CIPRIANO P. SANDOVAL

WE have learned in the previous article that man separated from the religion of God, because God’s commandments or statutes have been rejected. God in turn, rejected man. In this article, we shall find out the religion of those who have been rejected by God.
Does the Bible tell us the kind of religion where we find people who have been alienated from God and rejected by Him?  Isaiah 59:2,9, give this testimony:

“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear…Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.” (KJV)

THE MEANING OF RELIGION AND WHEN IT BEGAN

BIBLICAL HISTORY OF RELIGION
Part I
THE MEANING OF RELIGION
AND WHEN IT BEGAN

BY CIPRIANO P. SANDOVAL

THE meaning of religion and its beginning must interest every person. We are aware of the centuries old conflict and wars waged in the name of religion.  In fact the smoke of hostility pervades the atmosphere up to the present age.

Then we can mention the existence of so many religions in the world—all adverting to God but with irreconcilable precepts.  The irony of it is that the proliferation of such religions has not enhanced the peace and security of life sought of many well-intentioned people. We therefore would want to find out what the meaning of religion is.

Arguments Against the Japanese Sponsored Court of Appeals' Decision on Rosita Trillanes' Libel Case

WHEN THE INC DETRACTORS USED THE “DECISION OF THE COURT OF APPEALS REGARDING ROSITA TRILLANES’ LIBEL CASE” IN PROVING THAT BROTHER FELIX Y. MANALO IS GUILTY OF RAPE AND IMMORAL ACTS:

ASK THEM TO REFUTE THE FOLLOWING:

(1) That this decision was made by a Japanese sponsored court, taking their authority from the Imperial Japanese forces;

(2) That this decision was made by a court under the direct and full supervision and direction of the commander-in-chief of the Imperial Japanese forces in the Philippines;

(3)  That Brother Felix Y. Manalo had conflicts with the Imperial Japanese forces that resulted to Japanese harassment of Brother Felix Y. Manalo, arrested him many times, commanded him to step down as Executive Minister of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, and made attempt to destroy his integrity and credibility;

(4)  That during the Japanese occupation period, those that will not follow the will of the Imperial Japanese forces will be executed like what the Japanese did to Jose Abad Santos, the then Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, who was executed by the Japanese for not following their will.

(5) Even some of the Justices of the Supreme Court established right after the Liberation questioned the "credibility" of the judicial proceedings during the Japanese occupation period;

(6)  That on January of 1942, the Japanese declared that all judicial courts in the Philippines were under the jurisdiction of the commander-in-chief of the Imperial Japanese Forces; on the early month of 1942, Brother Felix Y. Manalo had conflicts with the Japanese and arrested him several times; on April 21 of 1942, Rosita Trillanes and company made an appeal to the Court of Appeals about their libel case (they were convicted by the lower court on January of 1941); on May of 1942, the Chief Justice of the Supre Court of the Philippines, Jose Anad santos, was executed by the Imperial Japanese forces; and on July of 1942, the Court of Appeals reversed the decision of the lower court regarding Rosita’s libel case and went further in calling Brother Felix Y. Manalo as a “man of low morals” (the Court of Appeals decision was published by the Philippine Gazette, the national newspaper of the Philippine government that during that time under the full control of the Imperial Japanese forces).

Failure in refuting these arguments is failure to established the "credibility" of the said "decision" of the Japanese sponsored Court of Appeals regarding the Rosita Trillanes' libel case.

The glesia Ni Cristo Believes In The Lord Jesus Christ

THE IGLESIA NI CRISTO BELIEVES IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

DOES the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) believe in the Lord Jesus Christ? Yes, indeed. However, the belief of the Iglesia Ni Cristo regarding the Lord Jesus Christ is what the Bible teaches about Him, no more, no less. What the apostles teach about Christ is how the Iglesia Ni Cristo recognized the Lord, for Apostle Paul warned us that:

“But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.  For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.” (II Corinthians 11:3-4 NIV)

Iglesia Ni Cristo Road to Centennial

GETTING THE GOOD NEWS ACROSS

TO PROCLAIM THE good news of salvation to as many people as possible has always been the overarching mission of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ). Whether by way of face-to-face encounters or through the mass media, we carry out this task with a sense of urgency, aware as we are that there is not much time left before this world comes to its fiery end.

Brother Felix Y. Manalo An Angel and The Lord Jesus Christ A Man?

In Defense of Brother Felix Y. Manalo:

On The True Meaning of the Word “Angel”

Iglesia Ni Cristo detractors asked, "If Felix Y. Manalo is an Angel and the Lord Jesus Chist is a Man, how come that a Man is higher than an Angel?" They aso asked that "If Felix Y. Manalo us an Angel, why did he died when Angels are spiritual being and they don't die?"

The truth is, they asked these questions because they misinterpreted and misundestand the doctrines or teachings of the Iglesia Ni Cristo. We never say that Brother Felix Y. Manalo is an "angel" in his state of being, but that he is the fulfillment of the "other angel" prophesied in the Revelation 7:2-3.  And also, in saying that Brother Felix Y. Manalo is the fulfillment of the prophesied "other angel," we never meant that he is an angel, a "heavenly being." They misinterpret and misunderstood our doctrine because if their erroneous understanding of the word "angel" (that the word “angel” refers only to heavenly beings).

In Defense of Brother Felix Y. Manalo, Did He Rape Rosita Trillanes?

IN DEFENSE OF
BROTHER FELIX Y. MANALO:

“Did Brother Felix Y. Manalo Rape Rosita Trillanes?”

By Dave Lawrence Michaels, Ph.D.

I am Dave Lawrence Michaels, a history professor. When I was attending the Bible Studies for those being prepared for baptism in the Church of Christ, a friend of mine approach me and told me many negative things about Brother Felix Y. Manalo to discourage me in entering the Iglesia Ni Cristo. He said, “browse the internet and you will find the truth about Felix Manalo.” So, I did. I was shock about many things published in the internet against Brother Felix Y. Manalo, and I admit, it discouraged me to continue attending the Bible Studies of this Church. However, I managed to talk to a minister of the Church of Christ, a Church historian, a fellow historiographer. He showed me concrete evidences refuting those many accusations and allegations against Brother Felix Y. Manalo. Thank God for that. Today, I am an active member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, and very much active in sharing my faith. Actually, this article is based on the research the minister I mentioned above who became a good friend of mine. Please read it with an open mind.

ATTACKING THE CHARACTER of a person is an act of desperation, because this shows that they cannot refute his teachings that’s why they resort to attacking the person instead of the teachings or doctrines he is preaching. This fallacy is called “argumentum ad hominem.” Yes, it’s an act of desperation and truly a fallacy. However, this is what the detractors of Brother Felix Y. Manalo and the detractors of the Iglesia ni Cristo are doing.

What exposed their real intention is the fact that although they have no concrete evidences, just baseless accusations and allegations, however, they will still use it, publish it, spread it. Many times, concrete evidences were already shown to refute their allegations, but they intentionally and totally ignored them and will continue to spread their baseless allegations and accusations because their intention is not to expose the truth, but to impose a negative impression on the person being attack (“manira lamang”). Thus, it is not surprising that after their allegations were proven false or refuted, they will invent more and more lies against the person they attack.

This is indeed what they are doing against Brother Felix Y. Manalo and the Iglesia Ni Cristo.

IGLESIA NI CRISTO ROAD TO CENTENNIAL Introduction

Iglesia ni Cristo
ROAD TO CENTENNIAL

INTRODUCTION

THE Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) emerged in the Far East on July 27, 1914.Hence, one year from now, the Church is celebrating her centennial anniversary. Since it’s humble beginning in 1914, the Church is now a global Church having congregations in 90 countries and territories, and it’s members consist of not only Filipinos, but of 110 different nationalities.

The emergence of the Church of Christ in the Philippines fulfills the prophecies of God written in the Bible concerning His sons and daughters whom He will call from the Far East in these last days:

“From the far east will I bring your offspring, and from the far west I will gather you
“I will bid the north lands give them up, and bid the south let go, bringing my son from afar, and my daughters from the end of the earth.” (Is. 43:5-6, Moffatt)

Everything that happened in the Church of Christ are in accordance with God’s plan. From her emergence from the Far East, until she reached the Far West, and her spread throughout the whole world.

“Who was it that made this happen? Who has determined the course of history? I, the LORD, was there at the beginning, and I, the LORD, will be there at the end.” (Is. 41:4, TEV)

Today, the Iglesia Ni Cristo is recognize as powerful and influential Church in the Philippines, the largest independent Church in Asia, and her houses of worship stand as landmarks in places where they are built. Also, we are certain that the Iglesia Ni Cristo shall continue to reap more success through God’s guidance and help.

“You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its farthest regions, And said to you, 'You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away: Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'”
“For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.'” (Is. 41:9-10,13, NKJV)

Despite the persecutions, challenges and troubles she encountered, the Church of Christ reached greater heights of glory. It came from a small and poor country in Asia (a third world country as other put it), having no any government support, and having no wealthy and influential members, the Church attained success after success. This Church from a poor country is now indeed a global Church, a proof that this is indeed God’s work:

“That they may see and know, And consider and understand together, That the hand of the LORD has done this, And the Holy One of Israel has created it.” (Is. 41:20, NKJV)

However, let us not ignore what God said to His nation:

“Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.” (Dt. 4:9 NIV)

The Lord God said, “do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live.” God also commanded His servants to “Teach them to uour children and to their children after them.”

Thus, let us always reminisce the humble beginning of the Church. Let us recollect the early years of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, how she was able to surmount the obstacles that barred almost every step of her way which she had overcome through God’s unfailing help, the difficulties, challenges and even the oppressions. The Church indeed emerged triumphantly.

The “IGLESIA NI CRISTO: ROAD TO CENTENNIAL” is a series of articles discussing the brief history of the Church of Christ in these last days from 1914 to 2014 to reminisce and recollect how God help Brother Felix Y. Manalo and the Iglesia Ni Cristo as fulfillment of His promised. This is our way of proclaiming the news of salvation, and God’s constant love that He showered to us, as mandated in Psalms 40:9-10:

“In the assembly of all your people, LORD, I told the good news that you save us. You know that I will never stop telling it. I have not kept the news of salvation to myself; I have always spoken of your faithfulness and help. In the assembly of all your people I have not been silent about your loyalty and constant love.” (Psalms 40:9-10 TEV)

HAPPY CENTENNIAL ANNIVERSARY TO ALL OF US!
TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORIES!

IGLESIA NI CRITO ROAD TO CENTENNIAL Why "Iglesia Ni Cristo" (Church of Christ)?

WHY “IGLESIA NI CRISTO”
(CHURCH OF CHRIST)?

THE name “Iglesia ni Cristo” is the Tagalog for “Church of Christ.” The Church was established by Christ in the first century. This is what the Lord Jesus Christ said in Matthew 16:18:

“And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, .and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” (Matthew 16:18 NIV)

The Church of Christ was established in the first century, and the Lord Jesus Christ Himself who established His Church. He established only one Church, He said, “I will build my church” and not “I will build my churches.” This Church has a name and it is important that she continuously be called in that name, because:

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 NIV)

IGLESIA NI CRISTO ROAD TO CENTENNIAL Why the Iglesia Ni Cristo Emerged Only in 1914

I

WHY THE IGLESIA NI CRISTO
EMERGED ONLY IN 1914

IF the true Church of Christ was established in the first century, how can the Iglesia Ni Cristo claims that she is the true Church established by Christ if she emerged only in 1914? The Iglesia Ni Cristo emerged emerged only in 1914 because the first century Church of Christ was apostatized. It was the Lord Jesus Christ Himself who attested that apostasy will take place in the first century Church of Christ:

“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.  At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,  and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.” (Matthew 24:9-11, NIV)

Are All Religions of God and of Christ?

ARE ALL RELIGIONS OF GOD AND OF CHRIST?

MANY PEOPLE BELIEVE that it doesn’t matter what religion you belong to as long as you believe in Christ and render services to God, because they believe that all religions are of God and of Christ. For them all religions are of God because all rendered their worships and services to God, and God accepts all services rendered to Him.

Does the Bible agree with this belief? Does God accept all services rendered to him? Are all religions of God and of Christ?

The God of the True Christians

THE GOD
OF THE TRUE CHRISTIANS:
THE FATHER ALONE

THE CATHOLIC AND the Protestants believe in the Triune God (that the one true God is consists of three persons). For them, the Triune God is the God of the true Christians, thus those that reject the doctrine of the Trinity they immediately dismiss as Christians.

Is the doctrine of the Trinity a true Christian doctrine? Is the Triune God the God of the true Christians? Are the Christians are those that believe in the Trinity?
