31 August 2013 Remembering Brother Erano G. Manalo

REMEMBERING
BROTHER ERAÑO G. MANALO

TODAY, 31 August 2013, is the fourth year since Brother Eraño G. Manalo passed away. However, we will not going to forget him because we all know how he devout all his life and strength for the sake of Christ’s Church. Although he is gone, but he left us his greatest legacy and achievement, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, who love and take the flock as Brother Felix Y. Manalo and Brother Eraño G. Manalo did.

We thank God that He gave us leaders not only dynamic, but also more loving and caring. Thus, as we are all loyal to Brother Eraño G. Manalo, the same loyalty we will give to Brother Eduardo V. Manalo. This is what the Bible adhere Christians about their leaders:

Hebrews 13:7 and 17 NIV
“Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
“Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.”

Felix Manalo is God's Last Messenger On Isaiah 41:4 and 9-10

WHY WE FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT BROTHER FELIX Y. MANALO IS GOD’S LAST MESSENGER
(On Isaiah 41:4 and 9-10)

GOD’S LAST MESSENGER?” this is how people react whenever they hear we declare that Brother Felix Y. Manalo is God’s messenger in these last days. They often ask, is there such thing as God’s messenger in these last days? And they also ask, if there such a thing, why are you sure that your Brother Felix Y. Manalo is God’s last messenger? In answering these questions, let us consult God’s pronouncement written in the Holy Scripture or the Bible.

God Set Apart His Chosen People To Render Him True Worship And True Religion

BIBLICAL HISTORY OF RELIGION

PART III

THE SETTING ASIDE OF PEOPLE CHOSEN BY GOD TO RENDER HIM TRUE RELIGON AND THE DRAWING AWAY

CIPRIANO P. SANDOVAL

THIS is a continuation of our study of the History of Religion according to the Bible.  We have learned that men have deviated from the rules or commandments of God, and as a result, their right to serve and deify God was forfeited.  According to the Bible, they have all gone astray and there is none that does good.  This is a sad picture of mankind because all men have turned away from God, but, in spite of man’s undoing, God’s compassionate love remains for all men.  So He has an invitation for all men and for all sinners, all those who have been separated from Him.  And this invitation of God projects His unending love for mankind.

The Religion of Men Rejected By God

BIBLICAL HISTORY OF RELIGION
PART II
THE RELIGION OF MEN REJECTED BY GOD

BY CIPRIANO P. SANDOVAL

WE have learned in the previous article that man separated from the religion of God, because God’s commandments or statutes have been rejected. God in turn, rejected man. In this article, we shall find out the religion of those who have been rejected by God.
Does the Bible tell us the kind of religion where we find people who have been alienated from God and rejected by Him?  Isaiah 59:2,9, give this testimony:

“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear…Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.” (KJV)

THE MEANING OF RELIGION AND WHEN IT BEGAN

BIBLICAL HISTORY OF RELIGION
Part I
THE MEANING OF RELIGION
AND WHEN IT BEGAN

BY CIPRIANO P. SANDOVAL

THE meaning of religion and its beginning must interest every person. We are aware of the centuries old conflict and wars waged in the name of religion.  In fact the smoke of hostility pervades the atmosphere up to the present age.

Then we can mention the existence of so many religions in the world—all adverting to God but with irreconcilable precepts.  The irony of it is that the proliferation of such religions has not enhanced the peace and security of life sought of many well-intentioned people. We therefore would want to find out what the meaning of religion is.

Arguments Against the Japanese Sponsored Court of Appeals' Decision on Rosita Trillanes' Libel Case

WHEN THE INC DETRACTORS USED THE “DECISION OF THE COURT OF APPEALS REGARDING ROSITA TRILLANES’ LIBEL CASE” IN PROVING THAT BROTHER FELIX Y. MANALO IS GUILTY OF RAPE AND IMMORAL ACTS:

ASK THEM TO REFUTE THE FOLLOWING:

(1) That this decision was made by a Japanese sponsored court, taking their authority from the Imperial Japanese forces;

(2) That this decision was made by a court under the direct and full supervision and direction of the commander-in-chief of the Imperial Japanese forces in the Philippines;

(3)  That Brother Felix Y. Manalo had conflicts with the Imperial Japanese forces that resulted to Japanese harassment of Brother Felix Y. Manalo, arrested him many times, commanded him to step down as Executive Minister of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, and made attempt to destroy his integrity and credibility;

(4)  That during the Japanese occupation period, those that will not follow the will of the Imperial Japanese forces will be executed like what the Japanese did to Jose Abad Santos, the then Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, who was executed by the Japanese for not following their will.

(5) Even some of the Justices of the Supreme Court established right after the Liberation questioned the "credibility" of the judicial proceedings during the Japanese occupation period;

(6)  That on January of 1942, the Japanese declared that all judicial courts in the Philippines were under the jurisdiction of the commander-in-chief of the Imperial Japanese Forces; on the early month of 1942, Brother Felix Y. Manalo had conflicts with the Japanese and arrested him several times; on April 21 of 1942, Rosita Trillanes and company made an appeal to the Court of Appeals about their libel case (they were convicted by the lower court on January of 1941); on May of 1942, the Chief Justice of the Supre Court of the Philippines, Jose Anad santos, was executed by the Imperial Japanese forces; and on July of 1942, the Court of Appeals reversed the decision of the lower court regarding Rosita’s libel case and went further in calling Brother Felix Y. Manalo as a “man of low morals” (the Court of Appeals decision was published by the Philippine Gazette, the national newspaper of the Philippine government that during that time under the full control of the Imperial Japanese forces).

Failure in refuting these arguments is failure to established the "credibility" of the said "decision" of the Japanese sponsored Court of Appeals regarding the Rosita Trillanes' libel case.

The glesia Ni Cristo Believes In The Lord Jesus Christ

THE IGLESIA NI CRISTO BELIEVES IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

DOES the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) believe in the Lord Jesus Christ? Yes, indeed. However, the belief of the Iglesia Ni Cristo regarding the Lord Jesus Christ is what the Bible teaches about Him, no more, no less. What the apostles teach about Christ is how the Iglesia Ni Cristo recognized the Lord, for Apostle Paul warned us that:

“But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.  For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.” (II Corinthians 11:3-4 NIV)

Brother Felix Y. Manalo An Angel and The Lord Jesus Christ A Man?

In Defense of Brother Felix Y. Manalo:

On The True Meaning of the Word “Angel”

Iglesia Ni Cristo detractors asked, "If Felix Y. Manalo is an Angel and the Lord Jesus Chist is a Man, how come that a Man is higher than an Angel?" They aso asked that "If Felix Y. Manalo us an Angel, why did he died when Angels are spiritual being and they don't die?"

The truth is, they asked these questions because they misinterpreted and misundestand the doctrines or teachings of the Iglesia Ni Cristo. We never say that Brother Felix Y. Manalo is an "angel" in his state of being, but that he is the fulfillment of the "other angel" prophesied in the Revelation 7:2-3.  And also, in saying that Brother Felix Y. Manalo is the fulfillment of the prophesied "other angel," we never meant that he is an angel, a "heavenly being." They misinterpret and misunderstood our doctrine because if their erroneous understanding of the word "angel" (that the word “angel” refers only to heavenly beings).

In Defense of Brother Felix Y. Manalo, Did He Rape Rosita Trillanes?

IN DEFENSE OF
BROTHER FELIX Y. MANALO:

“Did Brother Felix Y. Manalo Rape Rosita Trillanes?”

By Dave Lawrence Michaels, Ph.D.

I am Dave Lawrence Michaels, a history professor. When I was attending the Bible Studies for those being prepared for baptism in the Church of Christ, a friend of mine approach me and told me many negative things about Brother Felix Y. Manalo to discourage me in entering the Iglesia Ni Cristo. He said, “browse the internet and you will find the truth about Felix Manalo.” So, I did. I was shock about many things published in the internet against Brother Felix Y. Manalo, and I admit, it discouraged me to continue attending the Bible Studies of this Church. However, I managed to talk to a minister of the Church of Christ, a Church historian, a fellow historiographer. He showed me concrete evidences refuting those many accusations and allegations against Brother Felix Y. Manalo. Thank God for that. Today, I am an active member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, and very much active in sharing my faith. Actually, this article is based on the research the minister I mentioned above who became a good friend of mine. Please read it with an open mind.

ATTACKING THE CHARACTER of a person is an act of desperation, because this shows that they cannot refute his teachings that’s why they resort to attacking the person instead of the teachings or doctrines he is preaching. This fallacy is called “argumentum ad hominem.” Yes, it’s an act of desperation and truly a fallacy. However, this is what the detractors of Brother Felix Y. Manalo and the detractors of the Iglesia ni Cristo are doing.

What exposed their real intention is the fact that although they have no concrete evidences, just baseless accusations and allegations, however, they will still use it, publish it, spread it. Many times, concrete evidences were already shown to refute their allegations, but they intentionally and totally ignored them and will continue to spread their baseless allegations and accusations because their intention is not to expose the truth, but to impose a negative impression on the person being attack (“manira lamang”). Thus, it is not surprising that after their allegations were proven false or refuted, they will invent more and more lies against the person they attack.

This is indeed what they are doing against Brother Felix Y. Manalo and the Iglesia Ni Cristo.
