Catholic defenders claim that the “seat of Moses”

 mentioned by the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 23:2 have no reference in the Old Testament. And concluded that the Lord Jesus Christ went beyond what is written and that “Bible Alone Belief is destroyed.”

However, careful study of what are written in the Bible shows not only their errors but also that they insulted the Lord Jesus Christ in claiming that “He went beyond what is written.”

“BIBLE ALONE BELIEF IS DESTROYED.

“INC are believers in Sola Scriptura, teach that the Bible is complete and that it is all that is needed. They teach that all answers are given by Scripture.

“In Matthew 23:2 Christ said "The Scribes and the Pharisees have sat on the chair of Moses."

“Where is this 'chair of Moses' referenced in Old Testament? Don't you agree that Christ got it from unwritten teachings (Traditions)?”

 

The Catholic defenders claimed that “BIBLE ALONE BELIEF IS DESTROYED” because the Lord Jesus mentioned in Matthew 23:2 that Scribes and the Pharisees have sat on the chair of Moses” and this “chair of Moses” cannot find a reference in the Old Testament. Adding insult, they claimed that the Lord Jesus Christ “went beyond what is written.” This is what they added:

“DID JESUS GO BEYOND WHAT IS WRITTEN? IF NOT, WHAT BOOK WAS IT WRITTEN?”

Let us first read Matthew 23:2:

“Saying: "The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat.”

“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat.”

“Saying, `On the seat of Moses sat down the scribes and the Pharisees.”

DO YOU KNOW THAT THIS ONLY SHOWS HOW IGNORANT THIS PEOPLE REGARDING WHAT ARE WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE? SEE FOR YOURSELF:

Exodus 18:13-16 NIV

“The next day MOSES TOOK HIS SEAT TO SERVE AS JUDGE FOR THE PEOPLE, and they stood around him from morning till evening. When his father-in-law saw all that Moses was doing for the people, he said, "What is this you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit as judge, while all these people stand around you from morning till evening?"  Moses answered him, "Because the people come to me to seek God's will. (Emphasis Mine)

ARE THEY NOT TRULY IGNORANT OF THE BIBLE? THEY EVEN WENT FURTHER BECAUSE THEIR CONCLUSION THAT "JESUS WENT BEYOND WHAT IS WRITTEN" IS TRULY AN INSULT TO OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST!
