Are there specific amount or particular percentage of earnings to give?

“Are there any specific amount or particular percentage of your earnings to give to the Church?”

IGLESIA NI CRISTO (Church of Christ) members give monetary contributions during the worship service as our offerings to God out of our faith and understanding of the biblical teaching concerning religious offerings (ct. Heb. 13:15-16; II Cor. 9:12-13). However, members of the Church of Christ are not mandated or compelled to give a specific percentage of their earnings or a particular amount of their wealth. The Apostle Paul teaches:

“Each person should give what he has decided in his heart to give. A person should not give if it makes him sad. And a person should not give if he thinks he is forced to give. God loves the person who gives happily.” (II Cor. 9:7, Easy-to-Read Version)

This is the teaching that applies to the Christian era that each one should give according to what he has decided in his heart. Hence, tithing is not practiced in the Church of Christ, nor we are mandated or compelled to give any specific percentage of our earnings or a particular amount of our wealth. Thus, we  give our offerings on a voluntary basis, out of our faith and understanding of the biblical teaching concerning religious offerings that each one should give according to what he has decided in his heart.
