Brother Eduardo V. Manalo established the Christian Society for the Deaf

THE LOVE OF GOD to all the members  of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) never ceases. He showers His love and blessings to all members of His nation in these last days. The Lord God provided not only the material needs, but especially the spritual needs of all His chosen people.

Through the Church Administration led by our beloved Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Christian Society for the Deaf was formally established last April 12, 2014.

As early as 2002, the Church Administration instructed the school administration to incorporate to the curriculum of the College of Evangelical Ministry (the Church’s school for ministers) the teaching of sign language to ministerial students. Thus, from then on, graduates of the school knew sign language. With many church workers that can interpret in sign language the lessons taught in the worship services, the Church Administration permitted the establishment of sign language interpretation in various locales in Metro Manila districts like F. Manalo), M.H. Del Pilar, Tayuman and Luzon, and in some locales in other ecclesiastical districts like Cavite and Rizal.

With the establishment of sign language interpretation in congregational worship services in various locales, this further strengthen the faith of our deaf brethren. In some locales in Metro Manila, they established Bible Studies and Bible expositions with sign language interpretation which spearheaded the missionary activities of our deaf brethren and led to the conversion to the Church of many people with hearing impairment.

Many locales also conducted short sign language courses for the brethren so that they can effectively communicate with deaf brethren and non-members.

Thus, prior to the establishment of the said society, a number of “convention for the deaf” was held from time to time. These conventions initially organized the deaf brethren from different locales. Last April 12, 2014, at the College of Evangelical Ministry Auditorium in Quezon City, the Church Administration officially launched the Christian Society for the Deaf.

The establishment of the society will further the activities and outreach program fof the Church for the benifits of our deaf brethren to continue to live very productive lives and actively fulfilling their duties and services to our Almighty Father.

To God be all the glories!
